Here are some important tips for disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling ball valves:
1. Ensure that the pressure is released from both the upstream and downstream pipelines before starting any disassembly and decomposition operations.
2. Non-metallic parts should not be soaked for an extended period of time in cleaning agents. They should be immediately removed after cleaning.
3. When assembling, the bolts on the flange should be tightened symmetrically, step by step, and evenly.
4. Use a cleaning agent that is compatible with the rubber parts, plastic parts, metal parts, and working medium (e.g., gas) in the ball valve. For gas, gasoline (GB484-89) can be used to clean the metal parts, while non-metal parts should be cleaned with pure water or alcohol.
5. Each individual part of the ball valve that has been decomposed can be cleaned by immersion, while metal parts that have not been decomposed can be wiped clean with a clean, fine silk cloth impregnated with cleaning agent.
6. When decomposing and reassembling the ball valve, care must be taken not to damage the sealing surface of the parts, especially non-metal parts. A special tool should be used to remove the O-ring.
7. After cleaning, wait for the cleaning agent to evaporate from the surface before assembly. Do not let it stay on the parts for too long, as it may cause rust and dust pollution.
8. Before assembly, make sure that new parts are properly cleaned.
9. Use compatible grease for lubrication. For gas, special 221 grease can be used. A thin layer of grease should be applied to the sealing groove surface, rubber seal surface, and valve stem's sealing and friction surface.
10. During assembly, ensure that no metal debris, fibers, grease (unless specified for use), dust, or other impurities are present on the surface of the parts or inside the cavity.
